Yep...I'm going to start another post off with a scripture...
"But behold, he did deliver them because they did humble themselves before him; and because they cried mightily unto him he did deliver them out of bondage; and thus doth the Lord work with his power in all cases among the children of men, extending the arm of mercy towards them that put their trust in him."
The part that particularly sticks out to me the most right now is "the Lord work with his power in all cases among the children of men, extending the arm of mercy towards them that put their trust i when thn him."
When I read this during my personal scripture study today, I kind of felt like it was a big slap in the face from Heavenly Father. lol. But, one that I sorely needed! You see, before Ryan and I moved to Virginia in June I applied for Virginia Medicaid so that by the time we got here we could just start going to the doctor for the baby right away rather than having to wait forever/pay tons of money to do so. Well, it is now August and I am STILL waiting to see if I can get approved. I have called them every single week day to check on the status of my application...They have been frustrating the heck out of me because they never seem to give clear answers or any specific kind of instructions! I've sent them all the documents I can even think of lol, and still....I must continue playing the waiting game......I won't go into detail about today's particular phone call with the Medicaid office. Let's just say that when I hung up the phone, I laid in bed and bawled due to the amount of stress and frustration I was feeling!....Well, later on in the day I was texting my dear friend Andrea, venting to her about everything that'd happened and how upset I was...and just going on and on (bless her soul for listening to me!...or rather, responding to my texts hahaha)...Well, at this same particular time, I was also reading my scriptures....Immediately after I finished my little rant to her, I read Mosiah 29:20 and felt horrible....But, it's a good thing I felt that way lol...I've realized that everything is going to be OK...Heavenly Father is going to help me get this taken care of, I just need to have patience (whether I want to or not, and even though it feels like I've been being VERY patient until this point!) and TRUST HIM....I need to TRUST Heavenly Father!!!! As soon as I read that verse, I immediately relaxed and my entire mood changed...I went from being bitter and having ill-feelings towards this particular woman I spoke to on the phone, to having nothing but love for her in my heart, and feeling genuinley bad that she had to deal with a frustrated pregnant woman today (I wasn't mean to her or anything, but I wasn't necessarily being friendly either)....I KNOW that Heavenly Father will take care of Ryan and I and our baby will stay healthy while we are waiting to get Medicaid and get to the doctor.....I truly love the knowledge I have of our Heavenly Father. I KNOW that He loves us, I KNOW that He is watching out for us and is mindful of each and every one of us on a deep PERSONAL level...We're His children, of course He loves us and wants the best for us!!
Speaking of children (yeah sorry this post is random! LOL)
Ryan and I were able to find out what the gender of our sweet little baby is.....at 21 weeks pregnant, we found out that I am carrying a.............GIRL!!!
We will be naming her Scarlet Jolene Foster (Jolene also happens to be Ryan's Grandma Worthington's first name...so that's special for all of us!)
We love her so much already and cannot wait to hold her and be with her forever!!

Can't Keep Up!!
Nope, I can't keep up with this blogging stuff, I'm fired! Lol...I'm gonna say that lately I haven't posted because I just haven't done anything eventful lately!!
For the past few weeks Ryan and I have been staying in Nebraska with his parents. We just got finished doing a landscaping job for his mom's boss at the library, that was good for us because we were able to make a little extra money for the move out to Virginia.
Last weekend I went to my friends' Becca and Matt's wedding in Newcastle. It was beautiful, she looked gorgeous, and he looked completely in love with her! The weekend before that I was able to attend my friend Sterling and James' wedding as well, and did Sterling's hair and makeup for it, of which I was very proud! Lol.
Aside from that, Ryan and I were able to find a rental home in Virginia!! 3 bedrooms 2 baths, with a fireplace in the livingroom (among other things) for $650 a month. It's a little pricier than we'd hoped for BUT, it's a 3 bedroom house. NOT a stinking apartment. So, we're fine with coughing up a little more money for it while he's going to be in school there (2 years). My parents will be coming up this Sunday the 12th, we're gonna go float down the Niobrara River with Ryan's parents on the 13th, and then we're (Ryan and my parents and I) headed to Virginia on the 14th! I'm definitely going to miss being with Ryan's parents and being "close" to all our family members, however, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to go to VA.....It's going to be an adventure!!!
Speaking of adventures, this little baby adventure Ryan and I are on sure is something amazing in itself! :D.....I'm 14 weeks and 1 day pregnant and already showing AND swear that I feel my little one moving around in there! I feel like I have a little fish squirming around, I only feel it when I'm laying down too lol. All I know is it's NOT gas no matter what internet articles may say about women having a baby for the first time and they feel it moving til they're further along.....I'm pretty sure these feelings are my baby haha.....Anyway, here's my "baby bump" progress :)

2 Corinthians 9:15
"Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift."
That is how I feel today. I've been working on a talk that I have the privilege of sharing in Sacrament Meeting tomorrow at My in-laws branch here in Valentine, NE (it's so small that Ryan and I were asked to speak due to the lack of people haha). Anyway, the topic is about gratitude, and boy, do I have a lot of it right now!!! I am going to post it here rather than try to paraphrase it. All I know is, I am SO grateful for everything and everyone that I have been blessed with in my life!
In a talk by Bonnie D. Parkin, she speaks about gratitude being a spirit-filled principle. She said that, “Gratitude requires awareness and effort, not only to feel it, but to express it.” In the April 1977 Conference Report, Bishop H. Burke Peterson told the following incident about President Spencer W. Kimball and his talent for expressing love and appreciation:
“Two weeks ago President Kimball passed me as we were rushing to a meeting. He stopped, took my hand, looked me in the eye, put away all of his other cares, and said simply, ‘I’m sorry we’re sometimes so busy. I guess I haven’t told you lately how much I love you and appreciate you.’
“I felt his spirit; I believed him; my spirit soared to a new height”.
President Kimball said this about our need to express appreciation to our Heavenly Father: “Too often we take blessings for granted, like the sun, the air, health, and opportunity. Or we accept favors, honors, and privileges day after day without a word of thanks. We would thank the person who gives us a seat in the bus, the person who offers a ride, the friend who picks up the check after dinner, the person who does the baby-sitting, or the boy who cuts our lawn, but do we express gratitude to Him who gives us all?”
Going back to Bonnie D. Parkin’s talk, she states that, “Frequently we are oblivious to the Lord’s hand. We murmur, complain, resist, and criticize; so often we are not grateful. In 1 Nephi 2:12, we learn that those who murmur do not know ‘the dealings of that God who created them.’ The Lord counsels us not to murmur because it is then difficult for the Spirit to work with us.”
Gratitude opens our minds to a universe filled with the richness of a living God. Through it, we become aware of the wonder of the smallest things, which gladden our hearts with their messages of God’s love. This grateful awareness heightens our sensitivity to divine direction. When we communicate gratitude, we can be filled with the Spirit and connected to those around us and the Lord. Gratitude inspires happiness and carries divine influence. “Live in thanksgiving daily,” said Amulek in Alma 34:38, “for the many mercies and blessings which He doth bestow upon you.” Mercies and blessings come in different forms – sometimes as hard things. In D & C 59:7 the Lord said, “Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things.” All things means exactly what it says, ALL things, good or difficult – not just SOME things. We should be grateful for trials, adversity, and affliction. It is sometimes difficult to express gratitude when we are under stress, yet it is often such situations that permit significant spiritual growth.
There is a story related by Elder Marion D. Hanks about a boy and his mother, who knew the value of expressing gratitude:
“I sat at a stake conference where a returned missionary bore his testimony. He had but a short time and he chose to use one idea. He thanked God for a great, humble mother, and gave his reason. He said that as a high school boy, he [had] been sorely tried by the illness and then death of his little sister whom he had loved greatly and who had been the darling of the family, being the last of them. Their father had died. The little girl grew ill, and in spite of prayers and administrations and fasting and much concern, worsened and died in the night. The boy went into his room, locked the door, and sobbed out his broken heart to the walls because he was not willing to do it to the God whom he could not now honestly approach. In his rebellion and anger at a God, if there were one, who would permit such a thing to happen to them, he cried out in rebellion. He said he would never pray again, would never go to church again, and could never have any confidence again in a God who would permit this to happen. And in his immature but sincere sorrow, he made some rather serious covenants with himself. He stayed awake the rest of the night, apprehensive about an experience he anticipated. It was their custom, as it is in so many, though not enough, Latter-day Saint homes, to kneel morning and evening with the children around the mother, to thank God for the goodness of his blessings.
“He waited for that moment, knowing what he had to say, but fearing it. When his mother said, ‘Come, children,’ he said, ‘No.’
“She said, ‘Kneel down, son.’
“He said, ‘No, I will not kneel down, and I will never kneel down again.’
“She said, as I remember his words and I was deeply touched as were we all. ‘Son, you’re the oldest child in this home. You are the only man in the house, and if I ever needed a man, I need one now. You kneel down.’
“He knelt down, still rebellious, but because his mother, the idol of his heart, needed him, and he began for the first time to think in terms of her broken heart and her sorrow. So he knelt, but he said to himself, ‘I wonder what she’s going to thank God for this morning.’ And his mother, knowing as she must have, the questions in his mind and the minds of the other children, taught them the gospel on their knees that morning. She thanked God for what the family knew, for the blessing of eternal ties, for direction and purpose and guidance and convictions as to the future. She thanked God that they had been blessed with this wonderful, angelic child who had brought so much to them and who was to be theirs, always. And out of her mother’s heart, knowing the desperate, critical nature of the moment, taught her own children what there was to thank God for under conditions of such stress.
“As the boy stood, a successful, dedicated Latter-day Saint who had filled an honorable, difficult mission, he thanked God for a mother who was a heroine”.
The kind of gratitude that receives even tribulations with thanksgiving requires a broken heart and a contrite spirit, humility to accept that which we cannot change, willingness to turn everything to the Lord – even when we do not understand, and thankfulness for hidden opportunities yet to be revealed. Then comes a sense of peace.
When was the last time we thanked the Lord for a trial or a tribulation? Adversity compels us to go to our knees; does gratitude for adversity do that as well?
President David O. McKay observed, “We find in the bitter chill of adversity the real test for our gratitude…,which…goes beneath the surface of life, whether sad or joyous.”
Before concluding, I’d like to share something I found in my searching for this topic. It’s the 10 things we can do to help us develop gratitude:
1. Count your blessings. Awareness is the first step in developing gratitude. Henry B. Eyring pointed out that if we count our blessings with faith, the Holy Ghost will often bring other blessings to mind. Many of our greatest blessings have been part of our lives for so long that we may have forgotten they are gifts. How often, for instance, do we recall that our physical bodies are blessings we eagerly longed for as spirit children? One day a sister was contemplating the richness that music added to her life. She was suddenly overcome with a feeling of gratitude for those eternal laws that enable us to enjoy music. With that came a deep appreciation for the technology of recorded music that allows us to listen to music without having to be in the actual presence of the performers, a privilege we have been able to enjoy only in the past few generations.
2. Recognize trials as blessings. It may seem odd to think of illness, social upheavals, natural disasters, and personal tragedies as blessings. But, how often have we heard people bear testimony to the growth they experience through enduring periods of challenge and trial? Some have supposed that trials are reserved only for the disobedient. But, the scriptures make it clear that even the humble and obedient will face tribulation. Experience is a great teacher, and sometimes our hardest experiences can be our best teachers.
3. Carefully nurture every feeling of gratitude no matter how small. Cultivating an attitude of gratitude is much like caring for the seed of faith. If we nourish the first tiny sprout, in time it will grow into a beautiful and fruitful tree. I find that when I first become aware of a blessing, I can strengthen my feeling of gratitude if I immediately express my thanks.
4. Think about your own blessings. Too often, we fail to recognize those gifts that have been given to us specifically. Pondering our blessings can help us recognize and appreciate these personal gifts. They can also help us avoid the human tendency to despise our own gifts and covet those given to others. As we come to understand our own blessings, we can feel Heavenly Father’s love for us and trust His wisdom in giving us what we have.
5. Read Mosiah 2:19-25.
6. Record your blessings. Recording our blessings in a journal helps focus our minds on them and enables us to recall them later when we may have forgotten. Others, too, might benefit. President Spencer W. Kimball said, “Journals are a way of counting our blessings and of leaving an inventory of these blessings for our posterity.”
7. Express your gratitude to Heavenly Father. When we pray in private, the Holy Ghost often reminds us of blessings we have overlooked. Public prayers can also be revelatory. President Ezra Taft Benson has said, “There is a great tendency for us in our prayers and in our pleadings with the Lord to ask for additional blessings. But, sometimes I feel we need to devote more of our prayers of gratitude and thanksgiving for blessings already received.”
8. Express your gratitude to others. It has been said that when Heavenly Father wishes to bless us, he often sends that blessing through the service of another – a friend, a parent, a Church leader, a teacher. Expressing appreciation to these agents of the Lord’s love accomplishes two important things: it reminds us of the kind and thoughtful service they have given us, and it knits our hearts together.
9. Pay an honest tithe. The basis of gratitude is understanding all that we have comes from God. In giving back to him on-tenth of our increase, we acknowledge that truth. Paying tithing helps cultivate a deep and sincere gratitude for the source of all of our blessings.
10. Overcome roadblocks to gratitude. Sometimes no matter what we do, a spirit of bitterness or depression keeps feelings of gratitude away. In such cases, the unhappiness we feel may stem from something we have little control over. People suffering clinical depression need professional help in order to find relief from their negative emotions.
I’m going to end my talk by reading the Scripture D&C 78:19. I am so grateful for this gospel and for the Atoning sacrifice the Savior made for me, as well as for everyone else on this earth. I’m grateful for my wonderful family and the opportunity I have to be with them in this life as well as in the eternities. I hope that I am always able to express my gratitude to them, and those around me, and most importantly to my loving Heavenly Father; and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Updates!
So, yesterday was a really amazing day in many different ways!!
First of all, Ryan graduated from LCCC with his Associates Degree and a 3.9 GPA...GOOD JOB BABE!!! :)
Second, Ryan's parents were here and helped us move all the stuff from our apartment into a U-haul trailer, we all went out to dinner last night at the Tortilla Factory (yuuuuuuum), and they just left this morning and took our stuff with them to Valentine, NE where we will be staying with them for roughly 3 weeks before we make our journey across the US to Buena Vista, Virginia!
Last, but most definitely NOT least.....We got to have an ultrasound yesterday and hear our baby's heartbeat! It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen and heard and I definitely had to try with everything I had not to cry lol...We weren't sure what to expect when we got to the doctor because they don't usually do ultrasounds at that office until a woman is 20 weeks pregnant. However, they were nice enough to give us an ultrasound because we're moving and they wanted us to leave with something special. Well...It was TOTALLY special alright!!
We found out that I'm actually a little bit further along than we originally thought. I went into the appointment thinking I was only 9 weeks 5 days pregnant, and during the ultrasound we found out I'm actually 10 weeks 2 days pregnant (which was the average of all the baby measurements....he/she is actually measuring at 10 weeks 4 days...way to go baby! :D) Not only that, but, like I mentioned before, we got to hear the amazing little heartbeat which was at 164! The doctor told us that's a really good sign!!
So, I have ultrasound pics but I'll only post 1 of the 2 (the second one shows the heartbeat however I don't have a good pic of it that I can post since we don't have a scanner)...

So, I have ultrasound pics but I'll only post 1 of the 2 (the second one shows the heartbeat however I don't have a good pic of it that I can post since we don't have a scanner)...

Happy Mother's Day!!
First of all, I just want to say how grateful I am for all the wonderful mothers in my life...my own mother, my mother in law, my grandmothers, my sisters, my aunts, and all the other women who have acted like mothers to me when I needed one most (and was away from my own)! Heavenly Father knew what he was doing when he placed mothers on this earth!!!
Since today was mother's day I thought it might be a little fitting to finally come out and say that.....I'm going to be a mommy!!! Lol.....On March 28, 2011 Ryan and I found out that we were expecting a little one (or little ones!...we find out this coming Friday, May 13th, if we're having twins or not!) The expected due date is December 11, 2011....We ALMOST made it to our 1 year anniversary hahaha...but, we're glad that we're not having a baby on our anniversary because then we'd always be celebrating a birthday rather than celebrating our marriage! LOL...But, we're so excited...Heavenly Father obviously has big plans for us and we can't wait :D.
Aside from this exciting baby news, we also have another announcement...we're no longer moving to Wichita, KS like we thought we were! Instead, we are moving out to Buena Vista, VA so he can play soccer at Southern Virginia University and finish his Bachelor's in Business Administration...We are really looking forward to moving there and starting this new chapter in our life, it is flippin beautiful!!! We're leaving Cheyenne sometime the week of the 20th and will be staying with his parents in Valentine, NE until sometime after June 6th...Then my parents are going to help us move out to VA....WOO!!!

*Yawn*
So, it's about 10:30pm and I am already pooped!!
Ryan took me to a jazz ensemble/college choir concert tonight from 7:30 to 9:30...I guess by taking me, he was able to get 50 extra credit points in his music class...not that he even needed it lol, he has all A's and B's haha...It was good though, but, I think it would've been better had it been shorter..Oh well..
So, this past weekend was a good one. Ryan and I were able to do work in the Denver Temple on Saturday morning, then from there we drove down to Monte Vista where my parents live. My dad got called to be the 2nd counselor in the bishopric, so, he asked that we be there to support him on Sunday. I'm glad we went, it was very nice to get to spend time with my mom and dad :)...Saturday night the 4 of us went to see Source Code...It was a good movie, but, both my dad and I fell asleep in the middle, I just could NOT keep my eyes open!!...I guess I'll just have to rent it if I want to see what I missed haha...
Ryan and I drove back to Cheyenne on Sunday afternoon and just chilled out as soon as we got home...I hadn't been feeling good all day or the night before, so, "chilling" was much needed lol...
Oh! Our awesome roma tomatoes, jalapenos, and mixed bell pepper plants have almost ALL sprouted now!!! I'm so excited! I have never grown my own vegetable garden before, and honestly, a few weeks ago I'd wondered if these ones would even pop up lol...But, with lots of tender loving care, they've sprouted! Lol..I will send pictures soon..I'd do it right now but I'm about to fall asleep as I type this...

Saturday!
I have a feeling that today is going to be a good day!!
First of all...About two and a half weeks ago, Ryan and I bought two windowsill planters (36 little "pots" total) and some seeds to grow veggies...About two weeks ago, we planted jalapenos, mixed peppers, and roma tomatoes...I hadn't seen any little sprouts and was about to give up on them until about two days ago!! I looked and saw eight little green sprouts!!...I looked today and there are now 20..NO JOKE!!! I am so stoked!! Haha...Hopefully they all decide they want to grow!
Second...it's General Conference weekend!! I'm so excited to get to listen to the speakers and hear their counsel as well as the prophet's!!!
Third...Ryan has a soccer tournament today in Golden, Colorado...so the girls (aka the dogs Suka and Ella) and I are going to drive over there within the next hour or so so that we can make it to his second 2-hr game...I love my husband SO much and am so grateful that he gets to continue with his soccer dream....I am also so grateful for him and every little thing he does for me even though sometimes I'm a little brat/butthead!!

Oh Life...How I Love Thee
Haha, nice title huh?...I think I'm in a really good mood today for some reason, don't you?!
Don't ask me why, because actually, today was a LONG day at work!! I felt like I just had a never-ending supply of work to get done and I wasn't making any progress!! I was there for over 8 hours! What the heck?! Lol...AND I didn't even finish everything, I don't know what the deal was today, but, it was a little annoying! Lol.
Not only that but, Ryan went to the courthouse today to get the title for the car we just sold put in our name so that we can send it to the dealer in Colorado cuz he needs that before he can officially sell our car (btw, he was sitting there complaining that he probably wasn't going to be able to sell our car for a while due to all the "damage" but guess what, he sold it in less than a week!!!..that car was NOT damaged thankyou very much lol). Anyway, we had to pay almost $400 just to get that stinkin title! (had to pay sales tax, that's why)...We are SO grateful that we have an emergency fund for things like this!
Anywhoski (I'm pretty sure I adopted that word from my bestie Jessica in like 1972....ok more like 2002 lol), I'll post a picture of the beautiful Saturn we traded our CRV for...It'll be a good family car, good on gas, and good for traveling....we love it!

About Us...
After almost 4 months of marriage, I think it's about time to finally get a start on our little blog!! After all, everyone else is doing it, right?!
So for those of you who didn't ever follow my "Best (& Worst) Two Years" blog (www.lovinelderfoster.blogspot.com) then you wouldn't know that Ryan and I met at a tri-stake youth conference in Gillette Wyoming July of 2007.
You also wouldn't know that we started dating the following summer;
Or that I waited two years for him while he served a full-time mission in Mexico City...My last post in that blog was just 3 days before he came home, and boy was I nervous!!
Anyway, to make a long story short, I waited, we dated, and four months later we were married and sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple...December 18, 2010 to be exact!
Ryan is going to school full-time on a soccer scholarship here in Cheyenne, Wyoming at Laramie County Community College, and I am working as a "mail processor" at Cigna Health Insurance as well as doing my own little hair, makeup, and photography business!!
Once Ryan graduates (in May) we're headed straight to Wichita, KS because he got a soccer scholarship to a University there...wish us luck!
